First Timers

You do not need to have any previous yoga experience or even be flexible to try a Bikram class. There are beginners in almost every class, so don’t be nervous. All the students in the class have gone through their first class too!

“It’s never too late, it’s never too bad, and you are never too old or too sick to start from scratch once again.”Bikram Choudhury

What to Expect

It is perfectly normal to feel dizzy or a little nauseous during your first several classes. Each class is practiced in a heated room, and it might take a while for your body to get used to the heat. It’s ok to take a break. Just sit down or lie down and join back in when the feeling has passed. Try to focus on your breath, relax and stay in the room. We have all been there!

Etiquette

  • Please be on time to class.
  • Please come to class free of perfume and colognes.
  • No cell phones in the hot room. The only required items are a mat, towel and water.
  • The hot room is a silent zone. No talking please.
  • After class, please tidy up your mat with the provided towels and disinfectant and to hang your mat at the back of the room.
  • Be respectful of your fellow yogis and limit your shower time to 4 minutes.

Have fun! Leave it on the mat! Enjoy your yoga!
